A SPECIAL D-Day commemoration event is being held at St Joseph’s Parish Centre, Penketh on Thursday – with free admission for veterans.
Between 1 pm and 4 pm the Meeting Lane centre will be open for entertainment, fish and chips with mushy peas, tea and coffee and sessiona bingo. The bar will also be open.
The event is to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day .
A singer will be entertaining with many popular war-time songs.
Admission is £5 – although veterans will be admitted for free.
