POSTPONED earlier in the month due to flooding issues on the village green Culcheth Community Day was a mixture of sunshine and showers.
Organised by Culcheth & Glazebury Parish Council, local organisations took the opportunity to showcase their offerings, many using it as an opportunity to raise awareness and much-needed funds.
Stalls included Culcheth & District Rotary Club with their human fruit machine!
On eof the organisers Sue Bland said after the event: “A big thank you to all the fund raising organisations that hung on in there with us and didn’t cancel and of course all the folk that came along to support them. We hope all the stalls raised much needed funds.
“The pet show was as always a success..Elvis the Bassett Hound being the winner!”
Sue added: “A big thank you to Ian ‘s Security team, Vicky who organises the rides for us, zippy Lees and of course Radio Warrington,who as always,did us proud, plus not forgetting the Parish Councillor’s who work hard as well.”
It was the final time Sue and her husband will be involved in organising the event which they helped start around 30 years ago as they retire a slocal Cllrs.
Visitors to the event included Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols who also visited the Hunt Shield Family Football Day at The Daten in Culcheth.
The event included the Burnham brothers derby with Manchester Mayor Andy up for Village FC and John up for The Atoms!
Despite some characteristically changeable Bank Holiday weather, a fantastic afternoon so far at the Hunt Shield Family Football Day at The Daten in Culcheth!
