ST Rocco’s Hospice has announced it is closing its shop on Lovely Lane, Warrington, to help maximise funds for patient care.

The Hospice says it is proud to operate a number of successful retail outlets across Warrington to support sustainability whilst raising vital funds to help pay for hospice care for the local community.

A spokesperson for the Hospice said: “As has been covered widely in the press recently, this is a very difficult time for hospice funding and our retail team at St Rocco’s must make sure we are maximising the return on our efforts to maintain the valuable services that we offer to our patients and their families.

“To make sure that this return is maximised into the future, the team have been reviewing retail operations across the town and have developed a long-term plan to increase the contribution that they can deliver to St Rocco’s Hospice.
“As part of this plan, the St Rocco’s shop on Lovely Lane in Bewsey will be closing at the end of May to coincide with the end of the current lease.
“St Rocco’s have a team of fantastic volunteers that do a brilliant job to support the hospice and they are grateful for everything that they do. All volunteers will be given the chance to continue their amazing support to help run the other shops in Warrington.
“St Rocco’s also appreciate the support of customers over the years, and they know that the shop will be missed by local shoppers but hope that people will understand the need to make this decision in these difficult times and will continue to support them through visiting the other shops across the town.”
