Road closures for Lymm May Queen procession

A number of road closures will be in place this Saturday in Lymm village (May 18) for the annual Lymm May Queen procession.

The route will be different year with no activities taking place on the Lymm May Queen Field due to flooding issues caused by heavy rain in recent months.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice, on the occasion of the above-mentioned events, no cart, carriage, motor car, lorry or other vehicle (excepting vehicles taking part in the event, Police, Ambulance and Fire Service vehicles and Mail Carts) and no horses or other animal be allowed to remain in or travel along or over any of the undermentioned streets on Saturday 18th May 2024 as follows:
Between the hours of 10:30am and 2:00pm on Saturday 18 May 2024:
Crosfield Avenue Pepper Street to Rose Bank
Pepper Street Fairfield Road to The Cross
New Road Lymm Bridge to Dane Bank Road East
Lymm Bridge The Cross to New Road
The Cross Eagle Brow to Lymm Bridge
Eagle Brow Brookfield Road to The Cross
Between the hours of 10:30am and 6:00pm on Saturday 18 May 2024:
Bridgewater Street Eagle Brow to Whitbarrow Road
Whitbarrow Road Bridgewater Street to Brookfield Road
Between the hours of 11:30am and 2:00pm on Saturday 18 May 2024:
Brookfield Road Eagle Brow to Whitbarrow Road
Bicycles and Tricycles are included in the term “vehicle” and must not be ridden through any of the above streets during the hours specified. Any person willfully acting in contravention of the above order will be liable to a penalty not exceeding £400.
Vehicular access to premises will only be permitted under the guidance of the organisers.
An alternative route of Whitbarrow Road, Warrington Road, Camsley Lane and Booths Hill Road will be signed on site
Pedestrian and emergency routes will be maintained.
