Firefighters help free casualty as Tanners Lane closed following collision

FIREFIGHTERS used specialist cutting equipment to help free one casualty following a collision which resulted in the closure of Tanners Lane this morning.

At 09:05 crews from Warrington and Penketh attended reports of a road traffic collision on Tanners Lane.

The collision involved three vehicles and required firefighters to attend and use cutting equipment and a longboard to get one person out of the car.

The casualty was handed to the care of paramedics. Police also attended and closed the road while the incident was being dealt with.

A Cheshire Police Spokesperson said: “At around 8.50 am on Thursday 16 May, police were called to reports of a collision on Tanners Lane, Warrington.
“The collision involved three vehicles. One man has been taken to hospital.”
