WARRINGTON Town have announced the majority of their squad will be remaining with the club for the new 2024/25 season.

Their retained list includes Player of the Year Connor Woods and Fans’ Player of the Year Dan Atherton, the goalkeeper who scored two goals last season.

Long-serving Josh Amis, local lad Dec Walker and veteran defender Peter Clarke will have also agreed new deals.

Only three senior players have not yet confirmed their futures – top scorer Isaac Buckley-Ricketts, former Liverpool defender Andre Wisdom and midfielder Sean Williams, who recently clocked up his 200th appearance for the club.

The club is still in negotiations with the three players.

A total of 11 senior players are therefore on contract for the 2024/25 season, which will kick-off on August 10.

Joining them in pre-season training will be six young players, three of which featured for the first team last season.

They include midfielder Sam Gill, who came through the club’s junior ranks.

Connor McAuley, who scored four goals for the club’s Under 21s side in their successful promotion play-off final at the weekend, has been invited to join the first-team for pre-season.
