TWO fire crews were called out to tackle a bin lorry fire at Great Sankey, Warrington.
At 15:47 yesterday, Friday, crews from Penketh and Warrington were called out to reports of a bin lorry fire on Barrowhall Lane.
Waste contained in a bin lorry had caught fire. The waste was emptied out of the lorry to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire using two hose reel jets.
In another incident, shortly after 5 pm, one crew from Warrington was called out to reports of a fire in a wooded area at Orford.
Firefighters used water backpacks to put out a small fire in woodland near Windermere Avenue.
