A 20-year-old male wanted for alleged thefts involving verbal threats to staff in local Co-op stores has been arrested and charged following a foot chase across Victoria Park, Warrington.

Officers were involved in the foot chase yesterday and arrested a male who was wanted for a series of thefts from Co-ops in the Latchford area which included verbal threats to staff who had tried to prevent the offences.

The chase began in the Kingsway South area after his latest visit there on Monday morning. This chase took officers through Victoria Park and into the area of Sainsbury’s on Church Street where he was collared – thanks to colleagues in the Warrington CCTV office who once again proved invaluable.
Barclay Redford from the Latchford area was charged with over 10 offences, denied bail and kept in custody for the next court.
