Up to six weeks of road closures confirmed on A57 Sankey Way for resurfacing works

UP to six weeks of evening road closures have been confirmed on the A57 Sankey Way (Westbound) starting next month (February) to allow carriageway resurfacing works.

The closures will come into force from 7 pm to 5 am starting from February 12.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on A57 Sankey Way (Westbound) from the roundabout at Priestley Street/Lovely Lane/Thewlis Street (Pink Eye Roundabout) to the junction at Cromwell Avenue South.

The Order will be effective from 12th February 2024 for 6 weeks, between 7 pm and 5 am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Priestley Street, Froghall Lane, Midland Way, Lythgoes Lane, Winwick Road, Cromwell Avenue and vice versa. The restrictions are required to allow for carriageway resurfacing.
