BRITISH Transport Police have today sadly confirmed the death of a man aged in his 50s who was struck by a train near Warrington last Thursday evening.
Officers along with paramedics were called to a railway line near Winwick Lane, Lowton, near Croft following reports of a casualty.
There was a large emergency service presence at the scene where a person was sadly pronounced dead.
Confirming the death of a man aged in his 50s a spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
