Two men released on bail following serious assault at Bewsey

TWO men have been released on conditional bail following a serious assault at Bewsey, Warrington, last Friday.

It follows the serious assault on Clap Gates Road at around 4 pm last Friday which left a 39-year-old man in hospital with serious injuries.

Two men were initially arrested. A 55-year-old man was later released without charge while a 28-year-old man was helping officers with their enquiries.

The 28-year-old man has since been conditionally bailed while a 36-year-old man who was later arrested has also been conditionally bailed.

Meanwhile, the victim is continuing to make progress in hospital and his condition is not life-threatening.
