Three copper cable thieves arrested at Burtonwood

THANKS to assistance from the public three men have been arrested for the theft of copper cable being laid by BT Openreach at Burtonwood, Warrington.

On three separate occasions, a group came and lifted cables out of the ground in the village.

With help from members of the public three males have been arrested and taken into custody, with enquiries ongoing.

It follows on from another success thanks to support from the public.

Local officers appealed for help with CCTV from the Winwick Park area after a theft from motor vehicles offender was reported out and about.
A male has now been arrested for these offences and is being dealt with.
Local PCSO Tony Spruce said: “Your help is really important. If you see anything suspicious please report via 101 or in emergency 999 or via our website Cheshire Police report a crime.”
