PLANS for a three-storey care home at Omega, Warrington , have been met with opposition from some local residents.

One says the 66-bedroom development by LNT Care Developments on land to the south west of Fortress Boulevard, will overshadow his home.
It would be by far the tallest building on Omega, with the exception of warehouses and would not be in keeping with the local residential area.
“The three-storey building will be an eyesore to the local community and residents and will block out a considerable amount of light from my property.

“I also object to the façade of the building will is also out of keeping with the rest of the estate – essentially it looks like a very large hotel.”
Another residents says the building will overlook a newly constructed housing development, towering over everything else affecting the value of houses and leaving new residents in a negative equity situation.
The developers say the proposed care home would provide an important local support service, offering high quality care accommodation .
It would not burden existing health and social care services
The development would have a positive impact on the area, providing for a local need while providing a development sympathetic in terms of its scale and design.
It would bring economic benefits by creating more employment and economic activity during construction and in the long-term operation of the home.

The site is part of a wider, mixed-used development at Omega, with industrial, commercial and residential uses. The proposakls are currently being considered by Warrington planning chiefs.
