All lanes of M62 reopened following multi-vehicle collision and eight miles of congestion

ALL lanes have the M62 westbound at Birchwood have now reopened following a multi-vehicle collision this afternoon which caused eight miles of congestion and lengthy delays.

Lanes 2, 3 and 4 (of 4) were closed on the M62 westbound between J12 M602 and J11 Birchwood, Risley due to a multi-vehicle collision.

The clear-up operation has now been completed and all lanes have reopened.

Recovery & clean up is complete & all lanes have reopened on the #M62 west between J12 #M602 and J11 #Birchwood following an earlier collision.

There are 8 miles of congestion following this incident causing long delays on the #M602 and #M60. Allow time for delays to clear. pic.twitter.com/zr1afo3qer
