IT’S 3rd v 2nd at Gorsey Lane on Saturday when Warrington Rylands host Worksop Town in the NPL Premier Division.

Visiting Gorsey Lane for the first time in their history Worksop Town leapfrogged over Warrington Rylands on Tuesday when they beat Stafford Rangers 5-0 at home taking 2nd place in the table on goal difference.

Warrington Rylands manager Michael Clegg reckons his charges will be “facing the best team in the league at the moment” on Saturday and the evidence backs up his assessment as with five wins and a draw in their last six league outings Worksop are top of the Division’s form table while Rylands with a record of 2 wins, 3 draws and a defeat are 11th.
However, having watched his opponents last week Clegg described them as “a good experienced physically strong team who are really patient but ruthless in attack”.

The two teams current league standings:
P          W         D          L          GF        GA       GD       PTS      POS
Rylands            16        9          5          2          22        13        9          32        3
Worksop          15        10        2          3          41        17        24        32        2

With a record of 3 wins and 3 defeats from their 6 away games Worksop Town have the 9th best away record in the division while Warrington Rylands with a Gorsey Lane record of 5 wins and 2 defeats from their 7 home games have the 12th best home record.
Warrington Rylands will be in action again on Tuesday 21st November when they host Litherland REMYCA in the Liverpool Senior Cup 2nd round at Gorsey Lane, kick off 7.30pm.
