Police asked to investigate after car torched at Orford

POLICE have been asked to investigate after a suspected arson incident involving a car at Orford, Warrington, yesterday evening.

At 18:28 one crew from Warrington was calle dout to Windermere Avenue, Orford, where firefighters used a hose reel to put out a fire involving a car that was well alight.

A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots of fire before the crew left.

It is believed that this fire was started deliberately so police were informed.

In another incident at 01:19 this morning two fire crews from Penketh and Warrington were called out to reports of a fire at Boston Boulevard.
Crews attended a small fire on the balcony of an apartment on the third floor of a building. Firefighters cooled the area and monitored the situation with a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
