Two men in custody after stolen car involved in serious collision on Chester Road

UPDATED: TWO men are in custody after a stolen car was involved in a serious collision which resulted in Chester Road, Warrington, being closed last night, Wednesday.

A 21-year-old man from Runcorn was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, while a 22-year-old man from Runcorn was arrested on suspicion of being a passenger in a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.

Police say that at 8.25pm on Wednesday 8 November, officers were called to reports of a collision on Chester Road, Warrington, near to Hobb Lane.
The collision involved a black BMW and two occupants were believed to have fled the vehicle, which was suspected to have been stolen.
The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident and the vehicle was recovered. The road reopened at 10.15pm.

Both men remain in police custody at this time.
