Road closed as car crashes and bursts into flames

A road was closed after a car crashed and burst into flames at Orford.

Emergency services including two fire crews and three police vehicles, attended at the scene at around 8 pm on Wednesday after a car reportedly crashed over a fence and burst into flames.

The road has since reopened.

Firefighters who attended the collision used a hose reel to put the fire out. They also used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

UPDATED: A 36-year-old man was later charged with a number of offences following the theft of a vehicle.
At 6.03pm on Wednesday 8 November police were informed that a car had been taken from the car park of a bowling alley in Cheetham Court, Warrington.
Officers located the vehicle which then failed to stop for police and was lost. The car was located and followed to Poplars Avenue where it collided with a wooden post.
Mark Taylor of Dovedale Close, Warrington, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, failing to stop, and failing to provide a specimen. He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on 10 November.
