Pensioner Derek Irons remanded in custody for sentencing after breaching restraining orders

PENSIONER Derek Irons from Hatton, Warrington, has been remanded in custody for sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court for breaching restraining orders.

Former businessman Irons aged 79 of Goose Lane, Hatton was found guilty today (01/11/2023) at Chester Magistrates Court for breaching a restraining order on two occasions in August 2023. He was also found not guilty of a public order offence from August 2023.

Irons had also pleaded guilty in September to two further offences of breaching a restraining in early September 2023.

Irons, who ran a successful engineering business before selling up and retiring aged 33, was arrested on 6th September by officers from the Warrington South Beat team for the five suspected offences. He first appeared in court on 7th September where he was remanded in custody until his trial today at Chester Magistrates Court.

Magistrates have remanded Irons, who has numerous previous convictions, in custody until 29th November for sentencing at Liverpool Crown Court.
