Police appeal after woman knocked to floor and robbed of purse at Latchford

POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after a woman was knocked to the floor and robbed of her purse at Latchford, Warrington.

At around 7am today, Friday 27 October a woman was walking along Barrymore Avenue, Latchford. Once on Worsley Avenue, she was knocked to the floor from behind.

The suspect has then grabbed her purse from her handbag before running off. The suspect is described as white male, 5ft 9ins tall and of stocky build. He was wearing dark clothing and black Nike trainers.

DS Whitfield said: “The victim suffered what are believed to be minor injuries, though was left very shaken by her ordeal. I’d urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident, or has dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage that may help our investigation to contact us.”
