LYMM’S Brewery Tap has been presented with an award from CAMRA for ten consecutive years in the real ale pub guide.
‘The Tap’ on Bridgewater Street, has previously been two-time runner up as best CAMRA UK pub.
The award also coincides with the pub’s 10th year anniversary.
Local poet and writer, Rick Varden, has written a poem in celebration, which can be seen below and proudly mounted on the wall inside the pub.
THIS IS THE PLACE
By the Urban Poet
This is the place I sometimes call home
Where people actually listen to a whinge
and a moan
This is the place I can rest for a while
Knowing there will always be a smile
from the staff as well as a lovely drink
This is the place where I can chill and think
Or read the news which is good or bad
I can come in here when I’m happy or sad
This is the place to make new friends
Have some serious discussion about fashions, and trends, football, politics, and much more
The is the place where the choices of beer are amazing, it changes like seasons of the year
This is the place you can even do a quiz,
every day, it’s interesting and really the biz.
This is the place that has music, bands, poetry and more, for everyone, the staff can never do
too much for.
The service is excellent, the management too
Everything is top notch, like the ale they brew.
This is the place where the culture is at
Where is it? It’s Lymm Brewery Tap!
So let’s all stand for a toast and say cheers!
Here’s to ten more fantastic years!
