FIVE hundred elves are set to get Christmas up and running at Gulliver’s World with a charity Elf Dash taking place in aid of two local causes.

Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in the event on Sunday 19 November, completing a one-mile stretch around the popular theme park in elf-themed fancy dress.
Five pounds from every ticket for the event – which includes entry to the Old Hall resort – will be donated to Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity and Warrington Youth Zone.
Helen Higginson, Head of Fundraising at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity, said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Elf Dash and are asking for the support of Warrington and Halton residents to come along to our first ever Elf Dash event and support us.
“This is the perfect opportunity to have some festive fun and a bit of ‘Elfy’ exercise while raising much-needed funds for causes that benefit our local communities.
“Money raised on the day will go towards our Making Waves children’s campaign target of £55,000 to support young patients within the Children’s Ward, Children’s Ophthalmology and Children’s Emergency Department – we are ever so close with only £10,000 left to raise.”

Sophie Bentley, Head of Fundraising at Warrington Youth Zone, said: “Gulliver’s World is iconic to all children and young people here in Warrington and as a charity we are delighted to be a part of this great event. Many of the families who benefit from the tickets look forward to this event, with this year’s Elf Dash set to be the best yet.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying thems -‘elves’ and getting into the festive spirit!”
Craig Clews, resort manager at Gulliver’s World, said: “We’re really excited about the Elf Dash. It’s sure to be a fantastic spectacle, seeing so many elves running the course, getting the festive season off to a great start, and all in aid of two fantastic Warrington causes.”

Tickets must be booked in advance for the event, with places limited at 500.
Tickets are £15 per person and include the Elf Dash, theme park entry, and a grotto visit to meet Father Christmas.
