Imaginative proposals for house extension approved

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have given the go-ahead to imaginative proposals for a house extension including a subterranean garage accessed via a car lift.

The scheme at Linden House, in Lyons Lane, Appleton replaces an earlier one – approved in April.
Originally, the plan was for a two-story extension to the front of the house, with a balcony and swimming pool together with the subterranean garage accessed by a ramp.
The revised scheme, now approved, involves amendments to the garage to provide access via a car lift instead of the ramp.

A number of other minor design changes to the front elevation have also been approved after planning officers decided they were non-material in nature
The basement garage footprint has been altered slightly, the curving ramp being replaced by the car lift which does not feature any above ground structure. The removal of the ramp allows the scheme to retain a central tree.
The approved changes do not result in the scheme encroaching closer to the shared boundary with neigbouring properties.
