Busy village centre road set to close for electrical works

A busy village centre road in Stockton Heath is set to close for up to a week from October 16 to allow Scottish Power to carry out electrical works in the carriageway.

East Avenue will be closed to traffic from its junction at London Road to the junction with London Road Passagewayway 93 to 109.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on East Avenue from its junction with London Road to its junction with London Road Passageway rear of 93 to 109.
The Order will be effective from 16th October 2023 for 1 week, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via London Road, Grappenhall Road, Sandy Lane and vice versa and via London Road, Sandy Lane and vice versa.
The closure is required to allow Scottish Power to carry out electrical works in the carriageway.
