Police seek CCTV footage after youths set fire to mattress

POLICE are appealing for CCTV footage from members of the public after a group of youths set fire to a mattress in the open at Orford, Warrington.

The incident happened last Friday, September 25 when at approximately 21:00, a report was received regarding a fire incident on Toll Bar Road.

It was reported that a group of youths had deliberately set fire to a mattress. Anyone who possesses any additional information or has access to CCTV footage related to this incident, please contact [email protected].

Police launched an appeal on social media stating; “It is crucial for parents to be aware of their children’s whereabouts and activities while they are playing outside. Such behaviour will not be tolerated, as it has a negative impact on the residents in the vicinity.”

One fire engine from Warrington was called to the scene and a hose reel jet was used by firefighters to put out a fire involving the mattress in the open.
