A promising start at the Raven Inn

AFTER opening its doors to the public on August 12, business has remained busy at The Raven inn at Glazebury.

Despite a few teething problems business remains brisk at the historic pub saved from demolition following a community campaign.

Raven Inn spokesperson Peter Sturman said: “We expected the Raven to be busy, when we first opened, and so it has proven to be.
“There have been some snags, particularly around the power supply. Everyone has been very understanding and supportive.
“That being said, as we approach our third month of trading, we are still as busy as ever.
“We have introduced a quiz night on Tuesdays. We are hosting a coffee morning on 26th September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“We are introducing live entertainment in October and will be hosting an eight course pie tasting menu on 21st November.

As a community pub we are very keen to do something positive for good causes and to provide something for everyone.
“We were delighted to receive the top (5) rating for food hygiene. The staff have worked so hard since we opened.
“We are not getting carried away by our encouraging start. There are many good pubs in the area. It is important we build upon where we are and continually strive to improve.”
The Raven Inn had been closed for nearly five years after being earmarked for two different housing projects. But the community rallied and thanks to locla investors and donations was saved from demolition.
