Teenage burglary suspect arrested after police helicopter and dog unit deployed at Culcheth

A 17-year-old boy was arrested after the police helicopter and dog unit were deployed at Culcheth following reports of an attempted burglary during the early hours of Wednesday.

The boy was arrested after police attended at a property on Twiss Green Lane, where two suspects had forcibly gained entry to a house, stealing two sets of keys before fleeing on foot.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 5.38 am on Wednesday 13 September, officers responded to reports of an attempted burglary at and address in Warrington.
“Officers attended the scene on Twiss Green Drive, Culcheth, where two suspects had forcibly gained entry to a property and stolen two sets of car keys and fled the scene on foot toward Stanford Close.
“The police helicopter and the police dog unit were quickly deployed to the scene and supported officers in a search of the area.
“Following a search of the area, officers located and arrested a 17-year-old boy from Manchester on suspicion of burglary.
“He remains in custody at this time.”
