AFTER taking a week out for the FA Cup, Warrington Rylands return to league action on Saturday when they travel to Whitby Town for a top of the table NPL Premier Division clash.

Unbeaten since the opening day of the season Rylands enter the game in 5th place on the back of a five game unbeaten run while Whitby who have won four out of six games played stand second on the table a point ahead of their visitors.
After winning their opening three games, Whitby lost two home games before returning to winning ways in their last league game on Bank Holiday Monday winning 4-2 at Ilkeston Town.
At the same time as Warrington Rylands were beating Stockton Town in the FA Cup first qualifying round Whitby Town were beating Northern Counties East Goole Town 6-0 to set up a visit to Prescot Cables in the second qualifying round when Rylands will visit fellow NPL Premier Division club FC United of Manchester on Saturday 16th September.

Saturday will be Rylands third visit to the Turnbull Ground following an FA Cup first qualifying round tie in September 2020 when they emerged victorious in a penalty shoot out; the second came earlier this year when the home side won 1-0 with a late stoppage time goal in Michael Clegg’s first game as manager of Warrington Rylands.
Clegg is aware of the quality of the opposition he will be facing on Saturday saying “They are a really string side with a good manager that I get on with, so we’re really looking forward to it for sure.”
Warrington Rylands Reserves, who are joint top of the Manchester League Second Division table, play Glossop North End at Gorsey Lane on Friday 8th September, kick off 7.45pm. Admission is free and the 1906 Lounge will be open from 6.30pm.
