Police dog Torro helps catch car thief suspects aged 13 and 15

POLICE dog Torro was on hand to help catch two teenage boys aged 13 and 15 in a suspected stolen car at the Poplars 2000 Service Station at Lymm.

Torro helped located the two youngsters who had decamped the vehicle during the early hours of Tuesday morning hiding in nearby undergrowth.

Two boys aged 13 and 15 were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 2.50am on Tuesday, officers were notified that a suspected stolen had been seen entering the Poplars 2000 service station at junction 20 of the M6 for Lymm.
“Officers attended the scene and located the vehicle, a grey Ford Fiesta, and found that occupants had decamped and fled the scene on foot.

“The police dog unit was quickly deployed to conduct a search of the area, with officers arresting a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle who were found in nearby undergrowth.
“They have since been transferred to Lancashire Police.”
