THE M6 at Warrington has now fully reopened after being closed in both directions on Thursday night due to a police incident.
Police advised motorists to stay in their vehicles following the incident between junctions 21A and 21 and had to turn trapped traffic around with diversions through Birchwood.
The incident took place last night with both lanes closed.
No delays are being reported in the area and police have thanked motorists who were stuck in the traffic during the night for their patience.
No other details have been released at this stage.
