Road closures ordered for utility works

WARRINGTON Borough Council has made a number of orders under the Road Traffic Regulations to enable temporary road closures to take place while work is carried out by utilities companies.

Driving will be prohibited on Poplar Avenue, Penketh, from Tuesday, August 15 for up to three days to enable United Utilities to carry out a new water connections. An alternative route will be signposted via Chapel Road and Well Lane.

A similar prohibition of driving will take place on Smith Brow, Croft, on August 20. An alternative route will be signposted.
Tanners Lane, Warrington, will be closed to westbound traffic from August 21 for one week, from its junction with Winwick Street to its junction with Erwood Stret, to enable Openreach to reconstruct a chamber in the carriageway.
Alternative routes via Lythgoes Lane, Cockhedge Island and Midland Way and via Winwick Street, Buckley Street and Dallam Lane will be signposted.
