A NEW air quality monitoring station is to be installed off the A49 Winwick Road at Orford, Warrington.
The Environment Agency has been given the go-ahead to install the equipment on a grass areas between Winwick Road and Toll Bar Road under permitted development rights.
The station is part of proposals to enhance national air quality monitoring by providing additional data.
The location of the equipment is in key locations where existing data coverage can be improved. A number of different air pollutants will be monitored.
A large number of similar air quality monitoring stations is being installed across the country, according to the Environment Agency.
