WARRINGTON Wolves hooker Daryl Clark has turned down the offer of a new contract and will leave the club at the end of the 2023 season to join St Helens.
When his current contract expires it will end the hooker’s nine-year stay with the Wire having signed from Castleford Tigers back in 2015.
The 29-year-old has gone on to make 234 appearances in the primrose and blue, scoring 50 tries.
He has lifted both the League Leaders’ Shield and Challenge Cup during his time with the club – famously scoring the crucial try in the 2019 final against Saints and being awarded the Lance Todd Trophy for a man-of-the-match performance.
Everyone at the Wolves has expressed gratitude to Daz for his standout service to the club over the years and he leaves with their best wishes this autumn.
Clark said: “I’d like to say thank you to the Warrington fans and everyone involved in the club for your support over the last nine years.
“I’ve loved my time at Warrington but the time has come for me to move on. I’ve always given 100% for the club and will continue to do so until my last game. Hopefully we can finish the season and my time at Warrington on a high.”
Warrington Wolves Head Coach Daryl Powell said: “Daryl has been a quality player throughout his time at the club. We offered him a contract to stay but fully respect his decision to leave. We’re disappointed to lose a player who has been outstanding for the club.
“Our focus now is to help him finish his time at the wire in a special way over this next crucial part of the season.”
The club has thanked CTE Supplies for their long-standing sponsorship of Daz over the years.
