Man charged with criminal damage following unlawful traveller encampment

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged with criminal damage following an unlawful traveller encampment on the Millennium Green at Appleton, Warrington.

The male from the unauthorised encampment that arrived on Millennium Green in June was arrested in South Wales on July 16.

Asa Mochan, has now been charged with damage to the site at Millennium Green and will be appearing in court in August.

Police used special powers to remove the travellers from the site after they arrived from nearby playing fields at Appleton Thorn and warned criminal proceedings would follow after damage was found on the site.
