Grappenhall crashed to six wicket defeat

GRAPPENHALL crashed to a six wicket defeat at Alderley Edge after failing to set a competitive total.
They struggled to 153 all out with seven overs still left to play with only Kiwi Tom MacRury, 44 and Albert Pennington, 35, contributing anything of note.
Grappers applied some pressure, claiming three wickets within a couple of overs, but the strong home batting line-up then took control and coasted home with six wickets intact and plenty of overs to spare.
Grappenhall 2nd also lost in a low score game against Stockport Georgians at Broad Lane.
They were bowled out for 131 with Dan Adkins, 32 and Stan Pennington, 20, the only batsmen to really contribute.
Stockport were struggling at 32-2 at one stage but even cruised home with five wickets to spare and 20 overs remaining.
It was left to the 3rd XI to salvage anything for Grappenhall.
They won by 60 runs at Didsbury, despite only managing a below-par 133-8, Zac Tully hitting 50 and Steve Knowles 28 to enable a semi-competitive total.
But the home side were rolled-over for 73, with Omar Arif and Jac Judge taking three wickets each.

Warrington won by 53 runs hosting Barrow at Walton Lea.
Batting first, Warrington hit 179-7 , Thaakier Davids hitting 39 and Aamir Ali 38 not out. Barrow were dismissed for 126, Umer Zeb taking 5-35 and Davids 4-31.
Warrington 2nd lost by seven wickets at Upton after being bowled out for 95 and Warrington 3rd went down by 76 runs at home to North East Cheshire after being dismissed for 84.
Lymm Oughtrington Park won by 44 runs at Trafford Metrovics after hitting 208-7, Antonnel Atwell hammering 96 and Prashant Nanda hitting 42.
The home side were bowled out for 164, Richard Parkinson taking 3-12 and Vikram Pearce 3-45.
Lymm 2nd lost by 71 runs at home to Macclesfield when they were bowled out for 93 in 35.4 overs.
Appleton hit 227-5 at home to Cholmondeley – but it was not enough. The visitors replied with 230-4.
Ian Richards hit 97 for Appleton and Wes Jenkins contributed 60 not out.
Appleton 2nd lost by eight wickets at The Groves and Appleton 3rd went own by nine wickets at Europa Mere after being bowled out for 74,
Glazebury went down by a massive 248 runs in a match they would rather forget at Wistaston Village.
The home side hit 286-6 and Glazebury were tumbled out for a meagre 38.
But Glazebury 2nd won by five wickets at home to Styal.
The visitors batted first and hit 162-6 and Glazebury replied with 164-5, Campbell Thomson 81 not out.
