Keep smiling says Louisa – aged 100!

KEEP smiling and be happy – that’s the recipe for long life and good health according to Culcheth resident Louisa Langley.

And at 100, she should know!

She still lives in the bungalow she has occupied for the last 30 years, still gets out and about in the various cafes in the village and still enjoys making dolls, dogs and cats and other cuddly toys for her many friends and carers.
Before moving to Culcheth she lived in Long Lane, Warrington and worked in the offices at the Rylands wire works. Later, after her children, David and Maureen, had grown up she took cleaning jobs at Boots and the further education college across the road from her home, where she worked for 25 years.

Daughter Maureen said: “Mum has a good sense of humour and always has everyone laughing. Although she needs a wheelchair now, she still gets out and about.”
Surprise visitor on her 100th birthday was long time friend and chairman of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council Keith Bland who presented her with a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the council.”
