LIDL is seeking planning consent for another store in Warrington – on the Pinners Brow Retail Park, just off the A49.

The park currently is home to four separate units – including Wickes DIY and trade store which will remain.

But Lidl has acquired and plans to use the others, Carpet Right, sofa retailer Sofology and The Jungle, a soft play area for chlldren, to establish a Lidl food store. Part of the sofa store would be sublet to another business.

As part of the development, parts of the existing car park will be modernised to improve parking arrangement and traffic flow around the site. It will continue to be shared wth Wickes.
The application, currently being considered by borough council planners, states that Lidl is dedicated to investing in Warrington. If planning consent is granted, the scheme will be constructed quickly.
It will serve the needs of the local community, catering to the specific catchment area in the vicinity.
Lidle see the close proximity of the Halliwell Jones Stadium as adding to the vibrancy and appeal of the area.

They say: “Additionally, nearby Bank Park, known for its scenic gardens surrounding Warrington Town Hall, serves as a popular local tourist attraction, contributing to the overall charm of the surroundings.”
Lidl, founded in Germany in the 1930s, commenced trading in the UK in 1994 and now operates more than 900 stores nationwide.
Warrington Borough Council planning officers will determine the application
