Perimeter fence plan for former New Town House site

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington will be urged next week to give the go-ahead for the provision of a welded mesh perimeter fence around the site of the former New Town House.

The site is enclosed by Scotland Road, Cockhedge Way and Oxford Street and is currently protected by temporary fencing – erected after New Town House was demolished.

Aim of the fencing would be secure the site, prevent harm to visual amenity or nearby heritage assets and protect the living conditions of nearby residents.
Planners say there would be no unacceptable impacts on site access or highway safety.
Officers will recommend members of the borough council’s development management committee to approve the proposals at their meeting next Thursday, June 22.
