Fire crews kept busy tackling fires in the open and a smoke filled flat

FIRE crews have been kept busy in the Warrington area tackling numerous fires in the open, as well as a smoke filled flat caused by burnt cooking!

At 15:49 today one crew from Lymm was called to reports of a fire in the open on Blackbrook Avenue, Padgate.

Water from a hose reel was used to put out the small fire in the open, after it was believed to have been started by discarded smoking materials.

Earlier at 15:39 one crew from Warrington was called to reports of a fire in a wooded area off Lilford Avenue, Bewsey and used water to extinguish it.

At 08:59 this mornbing crews from Birchwood and Penketh, were called to a smoke-logged property at Greenings Court, Warrington.
Smoke in a flat required firefighters to ventilated the property. It is believed the smoke was caused by something being left on a cooker.

Meanwhile, last night at 21:40 one crew from Warrington was called out to Longshaw Street. A small fire located in a wooded area was attended and extinguished using water and a rake.
Earlier at 18:31 one crew from Warrington was called to Station Road, Padgate.
Grass on fire, in two separate places on recreational land, was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel.
