Fire crews tackle hay fire at Lymm and garden fire at Orford

LOCAL fire crews were called out to tackle a hay fire at Lymm and a garden fire believed to have been caused by a discarded cigarette at Orford.

At 17:55 one crew from Lymm attended reports of a fire on Camsley Lane, Lymm, where firefighters put out a hay fire that was approximately 10m x 10m in Lymm. They used beaters and a hose reel jet to dampen down the area.

Earlier at 15:58 one crew from Penketh attended reports of a garden fire on Greenwood Crescent, where firefighters were called to extinguish a fence panel on fire in the garden of a property. The crew used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire which had damaged two panels of fencing. The fire is believed to have been started by a discarded cigarette.
