Disappointing defeat for Grappers

AFTER the previous week’s big win against the powerful Chester Boughton Hall, Grappenhall slumped to a disappointing defeat at Hyde.
Put in after losing the toss, they were bowled out for a well below-par 130, with the only innings of note coming from Arav Shetty, 26 and Tom McRury, 27.
The home side lost no time in hitting off the runs for the loss of just four wickets.
Grappenhall 2nd suffered a maujling at Macclesfield, where the home side hit a challenging 241-9 and then rolled Grappers over for 83.
Tom Bramhall provided the only cheer for Grappenhall, taking 6-50.

They bowled the home side out for 166, Ben Clissold taking3-19.
James Knowles top-scored with 34 as Grappers replied with 141.
Warrington went down by seven wickets at home to Tattenhall after losing the toss and being asked to bat first.
They were all out for 124 in the 47th over after struggling for runs throughout their innings.
They started well enough with the openers putting on 40. But it soon became 41-3.
Asmir Ali top scored with 24 before being run-out and no-one else reached 20.
The visitors had 53 on the board before a wicket fell and coasted to a comfortable win on 126-3.
Ali took 2-24.
Warrington 2nd lost by nine wickets at Haslington after being bowled out for 68.
Warrington 3rd posted a respectable 202-9 at Oxton, Kyle Roden top scoring with 45. But it proved to be not enough as the home side replied with 204-4.
In the Cheshire League, Lymm Oughtrington Park beat Westminster Park by 71 runs at Oughtrington Lane.
Batting first, Lymm were all out for 143 in 40 overs, Antonnel Atwell top-scoring with 36 and Richard Parkinson contributing 25.
It didn’t look like a match-winning score, but Anthony Spaven, Harry Carter and Atwell each picked up three wickets as the visitors slumped to 72 all out in the 25th over.
Lymm 2nd travelled to Bredbury St Marks and picked up a five wicket victory.
The home side were tumbled out for 67, Yash Shinde taking 4-13 and Rajdeep Bose 3-11. Lymm lost five wickets reaching their modest target, Akash Chauhan top scoring with 16.
Appleton tied their game at Knutsford – picking up an extra point by virtue of losing one less wicket.
The home side were bowled out for 137, Adam Peters taking 3-34 and Moshin Rafique 3-22.
Appleton reached the same total with one wicket remaining when the overs ran out. Ian Mason hit 30, Martin Cooper 22 and Christopher Priest and Arun Arungunasekaram 21 each.
Appleton 2nd won by seven wickets at Oxton after hitting 228-3 amd restricting the home side to 203-7.
There was another good win for Appleton 3rd who dismissed Styal for 79 and then hit 80-4. Oliver Cross took 3-22 and Holly McCurrie top scored with 20.
Appleton 4th made it four wins out of four when they defeated Tranmere Victoria by eight wickets.
Tranmere were all out for 134 and Appleton replied with 137-2. Ossie Horrell, 6-12 and David Hurst, 67 and Sam Thorley, 41 not out, were Appleton’s stand-out players.
Glazebury went down by six wickets at Malpas after being bowled out for 81, Chris Lord hitting 20.
The home side coasted to 82-4, Jack Whitehead and Cassius Birch taking two wickets each.
