Two Football League sides to visit Warrington Town in pre-season

WARRINGTON Town will welcome two Football League sides to Cantilever Park as they build up to a historic first season in National League North in 2023/24.

The town will see its highest level of football ever after the Yellows secured promotion with a dramatic late win over Bamber Bridge in the Northern Premier League play-off final last month in front of a sell-out crowd.

That has left fans eagerly awaiting news ahead of the new campaign, and the club has now confirmed eight pre-season fixtures.

League Two sides Accrington Stanley and Morecambe are due in town on Tuesday 11th July and Saturday 15th July respectively.

The pre-season campaign kicks off with a trip to Prescot Cables on Tuesday 4th July, before the first home friendly sees City of Liverpool visit on Saturday 8th July.

Other games include trips to FC United and Nantwich Town, now managed by former Yellows boss Paul Carden.

The Yellows are expecting to announce details of player retentions and season tickets in the next few weeks.
