Firefighters tackle deliberate fires in the open at Great Sankey

FIREFIGHTERS were called out at Great Sankey on Sunday evening to tackle two deliberate fires involving wood and rubbish and another incident involving bracken.

At 18:46 one crew from Penketh was called to reports of fires in Harrogate Close.

Two fires involving wood and rubbish were attended in the same area by firefighters. They used a hose reel to extinguish them. It is believed the fires was started deliberately so police were informed.

In another incident at 19:23 another crew was called to reports of a fire on Blackshaw Drive, Great Sankey. A small fire involving bracken was extinguished with a hose reel.
