Casualty treated by paramedics following kitchen fire

FIREFIGHTERS cared for a casualty until paramedics arrived following a kitchen fire at Orford, Warrington.

At 21:29 on Friday evening, one crew from Warrington attended reports of a kitchen fire at a property on Fisher Avenue.

Crews put out the fire, which involved items left on top of a cooker, then used a large fan to clear smoke.

The occupant of the property was cared for by firefighters until they were handed over to paramedics for checks.

In another incident at 14:44 today, Saturday, one crew from Penketh was called to reports of a fire in the open at Callands.
Firefighters used water backpacks to put out a small fire in the open in Hayscastle Close, Warrington.
