AS the nation prepared to watch the Coronation of King Charles III Warrington Youth Zone Chief Executive Dave McNicholl managed to capture the spirit of the occasion as a cheeky selfie with TV Stars Ant and Dec hit the headlines.
Dave, who helped manage the transformation of Warrington Youth Club into the new Warrington Youth Zone, was one of just 2,500 lucky guests to get an invite to the Coronation in Westminster Abbey for his service to Children & Young People following receiving a British Empire Medal.
His cheeky selfie with the obliging TV stars hit the national headlines as it was caught on camera.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly posed for pictures with other guests at the King’s Coronation as they took their seats early.
The presenting duo work with King Charles on the Prince’s Trust and were invited in their roles as goodwill ambassadors.
Another Warrington face who was lucky enough to receive a ticket for the royal event was was Warrington South MP Andy Carter, who described ti as a “truly incredible day.”
He managed to catch up with some well-known faces including Warrington Wolves’ PDRL star Adam Hills and pop star Lionel Richie.
The coronation of Charles III and his wife, Camilla, as king and queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms took place today at Westminster Abbey. Charles had acceded to the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother, Elizabeth II.
