Witnesses sought after three people injured following collision on Chester Road

POLICE are seeking witnesses after three people were injured and Chester Road was closed following a collision involving a police van and a Ford Fiesta.

Police, fire and ambulance including the helimed attended at the scene shortly after 1.30 pm with the road closed in both directions for a time.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Fire crews from Lymm and Penketh attended at the scene. One person was medically trapped in the vehicle and crews used specialist equipment to remove them.
The casualty was then passed over to the care of helimed. Both vehicles were made safe and firefighters were in attendance for around one hour.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 1.30 pm on Wednesday, May 3, a police van was involved in a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta in Walton, Warrington.
“The incident occurred on the A56, Chester Road, near to the junction of Holly Hedge Lane.
“Police, fire and ambulance are in attendance at the scene and Chester Road is closed in both directions.
“The occupants of the Fiesta, a man and a woman, along with the driver and passenger from the police van, were all injured as a result of the collision and are being treated by paramedics.
“None of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1538586.”
