Two additional apartments planned for former office building

PLANS for two additional apartments within a former office building already being converted for residential purposes have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.

The proposal involves the former Williams Tarr office building in Bridge Road, Woolston where work is already progressing on the conversion of the building to 19 apartments.
Applicant David Platt of Bridge Road (Warrington) Ltd says the new development will result in the provision of high-quality accommodation in a highly sustainable location accessible by sustainable modes of transport.

Alterations to the car park entrance and its layout are also being sought but Electric Vehicle provision and disabled parking will remain available, in line with the previous planning approval. The number of parking spaces will remain the same.

Planning permission for conversion of the former office building was granted in 2021 and work is already progressing. The new proposal will add two additional apartments on the ground floor.
The additional apartments will have no impact on the 19 already being built. The previously approved apartments and the two proposed additional ones will all have access to adequate natural light.
Although the development sits on an area classed as contaminated land, the scheme does not propose any substantial groundwork or significant structural changes to the building, contamination is unlikely to be an issue.
The site is near to shops, restaurants, schools and a petrol filling station and the Woolston Eyes nature reserve is directly to the south, providing a valuable amenity resource for future occupants, allowing for pleasant walking and cycling opportunities.
