Volunteers wanted for Royal litter pick!

VOLUNTEER litter pickers are urgently wanted in Warrington to be part of the Coronation celebrations on Bank Holiday Monday, May 8.

The Warrington Litter Network is organising a very special Warrington Litter Pick to celebrate the coronation of King Charles, who has requested that people mark the occasion by taking part in a volunteering activity – such as litter picking!

The route for this event (see below) marks out a huge crown shape across Warrington. It’s about 4 miles wide and two miles high!

Tony Dixon from the Warrington Tuesday Team and Crown litter pick leaders group said: “We are recruiting volunteers for 9 teams. Working simultaneously each of the 9 teams will tidy 1.5- 2km of the route, so that together all 13.5km is tidied in one morning.
“Litter teams from all over Warrington are coordinating to make this happen. We have booked a drone pilot to record the event with airborne photography.
“The day will start with an optional early photo call by the Golden Gates.
“Then the 9 teams will assemble around the route at each start point. By 12 noon the task will be completed.”

Tony added: “Volunteers should register with the (free) Big Help Out app. This app has been set up for all the events on National Volunteering Day.
“Our event is called the Royal Warrington Crown Litter Pick. It is easy to find on the app, just by searching for Crown and/or Warrington.
“Once volunteers have registered for the event, we will contact them with details of their team start point, assembly time and other details.”
“This is a great opportunity to support a special and unique historic event!”

  1. The map and it’s boundary is restricted to the north of Warrington ?
Obviously we in the south appreciate our area and dispose of our rubbish responsibly !
