Three fire crews tackle car fire on M6 near Woolston

THREE fire crews were called out to tackle a car fire on the M6 near Woolston yesterday evening.

At 18:52 crews from Warrington, Lymm and Birchwood attended the incident on the M6 north, between junctions 21 and 21a.

The car was on the hard shoulder and the crew used a hose reel to extinguish it. A thermal imaging camera was also used the check the heat of vehicle.
Highways closed the northbound carriageway while the incident was being dealt with.
