BANK Quay Bulls went down by a single point after a nail-biting finish to their derby game with Runcorn Highfield.

It was a game of changing fortunes with a 300-plus crowd and the teams level on 22-22 with just seconds to go.
Then a drop-goal from Runcorn sealed the game as the crowd went wild.

Runcorn scored within a minute and were rampant in the early part of the game, dictating the game with Lewis Ainge and Kyle Robinson creating great plays and sets.
Highfield built up a big lead and Warrington’s discipline was put to the test with lots of back chat and a bizarre sliding tackle putting them down to 12 men. Runcorn seemed to be cruising to victory.
Then the Bulls piled on the pressure and fought back and with seconds to go the score was 22-22.
Runcorn took a kick and it was deflected to Runcorn’s Shaun McWhirter who went for the drop-kick and scored amid wild scenes.
